Testimonials

Whilst “Saving Tutu” took the children on a wonderful ocean adventure, it also introduced sustainability and highlighted the danger of pollution and waste brings to our planet.

Marc – Principle, Fellbach Book Week

This initial story by Lisa Newmarch provides an opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss with young children the impact plastic waste has on our marine animals. Helping children develop an awareness of the natural environment, and how we can minimise our impact on the world around us, is an important area of learning for young children. This story will be a valuable addition to our resources to teach young children about our environment.

Suellen Bingham, Early Childhood Teacher.

Lisa’s colorful and eye-catching picture book introduces children to issues of conservation and the environment. It is a positive and enjoyable contribution to our need to encourage children to be environmentally aware and, more broadly, to grow to love the natural landscape and develop ways to preserve it. I am sure that many children will read and enjoy the book.

Wendy Lindgren, Chair, Children’s Services Community Management.

There are many factors that contribute to children’s reading success, one of the most influential being a wide vocabulary. Saving Tutu is rich in its language, providing children with opportunity to hear and learn descriptive words that will extend their everyday vocabulary. The message of marine care is vital for children to hear and is presented in a way that is engaging for young children, with vivid illustrations that encourage adults and children to discuss what they see.

Children’s Book Author

The ocean has always held a special place in my heart. Saving Tutu was inspired by my wish to teach children about protecting marine life. Through Tutu’s adventure, they’ll meet ocean animals, explore colourful coral, count to ten, and discover that even the smallest heroes can make a big difference.
